Card Review (Origins of Jack Daniyal the Ripper)
This post I will talk about the ideas that have been generated to become that of Jack Daniyal the Ripper.
First off, the name of the card.
The original user for this card is Daniyal Ansari. His name, "Jack Daniyal the Ripper", comes from 2 parts, one being Jack Daniel's the American Whisky brand, the other being the famous classic serial killer from the 18th century, Jack the Ripper. There are no particular reason as to why these names are chosen to fit into his name, if I were to explain it, I will say that, my Name Library just so happen to click with his original name Daniyal Ansari.
The sketch on the right is the original idea that I had before starting working on the card.
The Inspiration came from Metal Gear Social Ops's Naked Snake card on the bottom. I wanted to bring the perspective of the card into Jack Daniyal.
I wanted to give Jack Daniyal the Ripper the ability to rip things apart with claws. So I wanted to emphasize his claws in his art.
I could not achieve it with the current art.
Hence, I re-did the art, primarily focusing on him showing off his claws.
I sketched out another art, this time, placing his deadly claws in front of the art, whilst not throwing away the original perspective I wanted for this card.
And yes, I was very much satisfied with the outcome of the sketch on the right.
The whole idea of Jack Daniyal the Ripper is to give an allied fighter partner to Mastermind Hilmy.
I wanted this both to come from the same "academy", and give them both related background stories .
The idea was to give them slight hint of resemblances but still unique in their own way.
I wanted both of them to be regarded as speedy, cool-looking characters.
Both of them wears the same exact grey-colored coat.
Because Mastermind Hilmy gets a Special Character Game art, I wanted Jack Daniyal to get one as well. The sketch below is the sketch of Jack Daniyal's Special Character Game Art. Sadly I was not able to get it done in time for the scheduled release deadline I imposed on myself. So this part, unfortunately, had to be discarded.
I hope to be able to bring this sketch to life, because personally, I love it a lot. I'll keep this in view for future works.
And that concludes the story of how Jack Daniyal the Ripper was born to be.
Thank you.
